The short version
- Qibla and prayer-time calculations run on your device.
- We do not run a server that collects your location or anything else.
- No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking.
- Location is optional — you can choose a city by hand instead.
This policy covers the Advance Qibla Finder app for Android
(com.qibla_finder), developed by Sadique Iqbal. It explains
what the app uses, where that information stays, and the choices you have.
Information the app uses
To point you towards the Qibla and work out prayer times, the app needs to know roughly where you are. It gets this either from your device's current location, if you allow it, or from a city you choose yourself.
Your selected or last known location and your settings — calculation method, reminders, prayer-time corrections and similar preferences — are saved only on your device. They are used for offline calculation, for the home-screen widget, and for renewing your reminders. They are not sent to us.
City search and place names
When you search for a city, or when the app shows the name of the place you are in, it uses your device's built-in geocoding service. That service is provided by your phone's platform, not by us, and it may send your search text or coordinates to its provider to answer the request. It is the only part of the app that relies on a network service.
Permissions
| Location | Optional. Used to calculate the Qibla direction and prayer times for where you are. The app explains why it asks before the permission prompt appears, and you can choose a city manually instead. The app does not request background location. |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Used for prayer reminders, and for suhoor and iftar reminders during Ramadan. You can turn reminders off at any time. |
| Alarms and reminders | Optional. Lets reminders arrive at the exact minute. Without it, Android may deliver them a little late. |
| Run at startup | Restores your reminders after the phone restarts, using the location already saved on the device. |
| Vibration | A single vibration when the compass confirms you are facing the Qibla. |
| Motion sensors | The compass reads your device's magnetometer. These readings are used on the spot and are not stored. |
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software.
App updates
Google Play handles checking for and downloading updates to the app, under Google's own privacy policy.
Keeping or deleting your data
Everything the app stores stays on your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing the app's data in your device settings, or by uninstalling the app. Because nothing is held on a server, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Children
The app is suitable for a general audience. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
